The beige top color is underglazed with rich blue and brown, for streaks of deep color in the recesses and edges of the vase. And it's quite heavily weighted at the base, ensuring that even your most over-the-top arrangements won't topple it.Standing 9 1/2 inches high, the Rose Bouquet Vase has a top diameter of 4 inches -- plenty of room for thick and multiple stems, but not so large that a less bulky bouquet gets lost in the space. The vase curves sharply inward just below the lip, helping "hold" the stems in place a bit. And the friendly design complements every bloom from Hydrangea to Echinacea! This vase is part of a collection of fine garden pottery begun by an American bonsai collector who was frustrated with the lack of fine pottery available for his plants. This is a series of uniquely commissioned, hand-crafted pottery. Unlike the lightweight, factory-manufactured pieces found elsewhere, these are works of art, most with a double glaze and all demonstrating expert craftsmanship designed for rough outdoor treatment.
