Savoy Express F-1 Chinese Cabbage is a huge advancement in savoy cabbages! Most are very late season, but Express matures at the same time as Golden Acre. Small-framed; can be planted 12" apart and yields nice 1 - 2 lb. heads. It has great texture and sweet flavor. Savoy's are avoided by the cabbage worm and looper. They are cool season crops and bolt or go to seed in long days of late spring and summer. They grow best as a fall or early winter crop in most areas. Chinese cabbage is used fresh in salads or cooked like regular cabbage. When planting, choose an open, unshaded site with fertile, well-drained and moisture retentive soil.
