Suyo Long Asian Cucumber is from northern China. Sweet in flavor, its dark green fruits can grow to 18" and have white spines. Suyo Long is almost seedless, and it is bitter-free and burpless. This cucumber is crisp, tender and should be trellised for straight fruits. It is heat tolerant, resists PM., is widely adapted and very dependable in hot, humid climates. What an excellent cucumber for salads and bread and butter pickles! Pick them when they reach around eight or nine inches long. Keeping them picked while young will encourage the plants to keep producing. Suyo Long can be either grown on a cage or trellis. After harvesting, use the cucumber within in a week; keep refrigerated.
