Plant this little powerhouse now and within a few years you'll have a large, thriving colony of rich chocolate foliage and bright blue spring blooms!Mahogany is the darkest Ajuga of them all, with deep coffee-colored foliage on short stems. The color improves in winter, becoming more lustrous, and refuses to green out even in the hottest summer weather. In spring, it's topped by lovely bright blue blooms. You can't go wrong with this beauty!And Mahogany spreads. Just 6 inches high, and spreads about a foot the first season. The stems then root in place and spread another 12 inches or so the following year. Even a small planting now will multiply nicely over time for you!Set this plant in full sun or partial shade, spacing about a foot apart for quick, dense coverage, or farther apart for more gradual filling in.
