The Austrian pine is a coniferous tree (a tree that is usually characterized by needle- or scale-like leaves with seeds produced in cones). This tree is characterized by its 4-6 inches, dark green needles. It serves well as a landscape decoration or border tree, and can be used as a windbreak. At its maturity, it usually never grows larger than 40 feet, and is very broad. Tree shown in picture is 15 to 25 years old.
